Terms
Updated 5 October 2026
stepto.link is run by Yuanzheng Yang in Sydney, Australia. Using the site means you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@stepto.link.
Your files
- Your files stay yours. The site stores them and shows them to people who have your link. Nothing else.
- Only send files you are allowed to share. That rules out files covered by a confidentiality agreement you would be breaking, and files that export-control or secrecy laws stop you from sending.
- Nothing illegal, and nothing built to harm the people who open it.
Links
- Anyone who has a link can open it. Send it only to people who should see the file.
- Links expire: after up to 7 days on Free, and after up to 1 year on Pro. The files are deleted with the link.
- An account keeps a limited number of files at a time: 3 on Free, 30 on Pro. Deleting a file, or its expiry, frees the place.
- This is a way to send a file, not a place to keep one. Keep your own copy.
Accounts
You need an account to send a file. It uses Google sign-in. Your client does not need one. You are responsible for what is sent from your account. You can delete it at any time from the account page.
Pro
- Pro costs US$9 a month, plus tax where it applies. It is billed monthly, in advance, until you cancel.
- Payment is handled by Stripe through its Link checkout, which is the seller on your receipt and deals with tax, receipts and card details.
- Cancel at any time from the account page. Pro stays on until the end of the month you paid for, then the account goes back to Free. Links you made keep their expiry dates.
- Payments are not refunded for part of a month, except where the law gives you that right.
- If the price changes, you are told by email at least 30 days before it applies to you.
- An access code gives an account Pro without payment. It can be withdrawn at any time.
What to expect
The site is offered as it is. It may change, be interrupted or stop. It reads STEP files in your browser, and some files will not convert or will look different from your CAD software: check a link before you rely on it. If the site closes, Pro customers are refunded for the time they paid for and did not get.
Removal
A link can be removed, and an account closed, if it breaks these terms or the law.
Liability
As far as the law allows, the site is not liable for losses from using it, and any liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
Changes
This page is updated when the terms change. If a change matters to people with an account, they are told by email.
